Interesting request..
Hey guys,
Need some help from the Brit boys (and it pains me as you guys are off to a good start in the 1st Ashes test).
I was helping my mum clean the garage as dad doesn't use it anymore. Chucked the fridge in the back of the work ute. went back to find a couple of cricket bats hidden next to where the fridge was. One I thought was thrown out years ago. It's an old one alright.
It has circular imprints with'"Star Co London" on the top shoulders and an imprinted Bill Woodfull signature on the face. On the back up on the splice there is a 4digit number and near it has a freestyle written imprint 'Selected'.
Now .... I can't locate it here. Sooooo I was wondering if Les or anyone for that matter has heard of this style of bat. The obvious one for me is how old is it and how rare. It's quite ratty with some wood borer holes (which I'll treat) and it's split ( from use) at the toe, so I know it won't be worth much but but a great keepsake I managed to rescue from the rubbish bin.
Any help would be fantastic !!

I tried Andrew...
I can't get anything with that branding...
I just thought more eyes and ideas are better than mine.
I'll post a couple of photos of it later on.
Might even try over at DPH. as well

Guys,
Jump into this website
http://www.livebidonline.com/catalogues/common/catalogue.php?pagecode=5TCRGM&eventid=418
scroll down to item #334 (click on photo to enlarge for better view)
and you'll see a photo of Bill with a new bat in hand.
That's the one I've got.
Again.... I've never seen that type before and would like more details.

Re: Interesting request..
Kidding... aren't you ?
I'll post a photo shortly.
But no mate. It's old, been used has the old string repair around the blade (and split at the bottom) and has a few wood borer holes.
Doing more cleaning in the garage. Found another bat. This was a Stuart Surridge 'Neil Harvey'. But it was full of wood borers. What a pity...
