"The LEGO (R) Movie" is the first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO (R) adventure. The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet (Chris Pratt) an ordinary, rules- following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

The Lego Movie was an assured success. Although Warner likely didn't dare to predict it would be as much of a hit as it has proven to be, it was a no-brainer for them to have TT Games prepare another one of their action-adventure games for release at around the same time. The LEGO Movie Videogame makes no attempt to parody its cinematic counterpart, instead re-enacting it scene for scene, with players controlling a growing cast of colourful characters possessing varying strengths and weaknesses.
